The global water crisis amplifies inequality, with women and girls facing the greatest challenges where safe water and sanitation are lacking. Lasting solutions depend on placing them at the center of water governance and designing systems that are climate resilient and responsive to all. A rights-based approach that recognizes womenโs leadership and agency can shift outcomes at scale. When women have equal influence in decisions, water becomes a catalyst for inclusion, sustainability, and shared prosperity.
